inspirational and incredible documentary!
Thank you for raising awareness that the number of black doctors has been decreasing with time.
I especially appreciated being prompted to consider the potential causes of this trend and efforts to reverse it.
Fantastic documentary that really brings a spotlight onto an issue that is not readily discussed in the medical field. Inspired me to research more into this topic and take an active role in bringing equality to the medical field in the future.
Just a few weeks ago a patient told me that I was the only physician to take the time to really speak to him. He told me that he never was cared for by a black male physician. We must increase the number of black males becoming physicians. This is a life and death matter. We need to get more black males in the elementary to medical school pipeline. We have to be examples to black males very early in their schooling that learning science and excelling is cool.
This movie covers it all. I loved the diverse array of speakers and the barbershop scenes also to keep it real. This is a call to action and there is something for all of us to do to help raise up the next generations of Black Doctors. As a Black male Physician, I know the struggle is real but God is able to do what seems impossible through us. Loved this and Trip's story shows why the Black Male needs someone to lift their heads up as they pursue excellence in all areas of life.
