As a black nurse practitioner it was years before I saw a black NP. Now I pride myself in keeping a mentor group of black NPs in order network and push for more of us to come through the ranks. My father is a black physician and my brother is currently in med school. This is a story that needs to be told. I really enjoyed everyone’s perspective and stories. Great mission, you have my full Support! I will spread the word about the movement and documentary.
As a physician in academic medicine for almost 50 years who has seen these statistics, I am in awe of the determination to change this appalling lack of black men in medicine by a committed group of young black male physicians. The problem is long standing and the obstacles are huge but as I watched this I was inspired and I believe that they are the catalyst that is needed but we all must pitch in
Truly inspiring and a must-see for all aspiring professionals. As a current student doctor, I found it challenging to find the words to describe why I go so hard to fulfill this God-given purpose for my life. This documentary gave me the ability to articulate better the importance of Black representation in medicine - Black Men in White Coats.
This was an extremely powerful documentary highlighting the importance of this movement. I particularly love the fact that it discussed the systematic challenges surrounding standardized testing. I look forward to the panel discussion.
This video is the reason why as a future provider I will be recruiting and I will be a mentor for our youth. I wish I came across this video sooner. Words cannot express how grateful I am that BMWC is a movement and every part of me knows it will be successful. Thank you so much Dr. Dale.
